Jason Altman is a born and raised New Yorker.  He is recognized for his recurring guest star role "Herrmann" in seasons 5 & 6 of Orange is the New Black, and has appeared in several other television series and independent films.

On the stage, Jason has performed Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theater, Soho Playhouse, June Havoc Theater, among others.

He is a graduate of the esteemed Meisner program at the William Esper Studio in NYC, and holds a MA in English from CUNY Queens College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

He currently resides in the NYC area with his wife Ivy, children Lylah and Simon, and cockapoo Westy. In addition to acting, Jason is an English Professor.
